MY PHILOSOPHY
I believe that music education should provide young people with experiences that are both enjoyable and educational. The elements of music are best taught through the exciting medium of performance, fostering creativity and encouraging lifelong learning. Music education offers students the opportunity to develop their social, mental, and leadership potential.
Music can have a positive influence on a child's stress levels, self-esteem, creativity, and listening skills. The beauty of music lies in its ability to be taught and understood in a multitude of ways. I plan to differentiate lessons and music concepts for all students, with a special focus on those with IEPs or special needs.
Understanding each child's life at home, their culture, families, and hobbies is crucial. Building connections with families and students plays a key role in understanding how each individual child learns best. The joy of music education should be attainable for all, and my goal as an educator is to empower students to utilize music as a resource in all areas of their lives.
